Crafted from natural slate, the Surmi vase is a presentation piece for your home or garden. Its clean rectangular shape gives it a modern, architectural feel.

Each vase is created from naturally split, sectional sheets of riven slate, resin bonded together for a durable and watertight vessel.

The graining and texture on each piece are utterly unique, you’ll typically see warm tones of grey, copper and silver running through the stone.

Made your way

Every element is yours to select. Choose whether you desire one, two or three lines of text and add your wording. The vase can accommodate up to 58 characters, including spaces, in a choice of 2 font styles. Then choose the colour of each line of your engraving to suit your style or occasion.

Nine hand-painted colours

Choose from nine carefully selected colours. We apply each one by hand, brushing it into the engraved recesses for a crisp, even finish. Three of those colours are metallics: gold, silver and rose gold. These carry a small additional charge, but they create a beautiful light-catching finish. As the light moves across the vase, the metallic lettering shifts and glows.

Sandblasted in our Norfolk studio

We engrave every vase in-house at our Norfolk studio. Our skilled engravers have years of experience working with stone. First, we hand-mask your design. Then we sandblast it into the surface, creating a clean, well-defined mark rather than simply scratching the surface. The result is beautifully defined lettering with genuine depth and natural shadow, built to stand the test of time.

A gift to mark the moment

This vase makes a lasting gift for weddings, anniversaries, housewarmings, memorials and other celebrations or commemorations. Fill it with fresh, dried or faux flowers for a vibrant display, sure to enchant the recipient. Standing on its own as a keepsake or treasured personal piece. Long after the original act of gifting, the vase can be used indoors on a table or outside among the garden borders.
