Head For Flowers Supreme Sculpture

Experience the fusion of fine art and horticultural life with ‘Head for Flowers’, a flagship piece from the Foras Sculpture Collection. Originally inspired by a Salvador Dalí drawing that Managing Director Claire Brutnall kept on her studio wall for over four decades, this breath-taking sculpture explores the coexistence of strength, beauty, and the resilience of nature.

‘Head for Flowers’ is more than a static monument; it is a living vessel. Standing at an impressive 6ft tall, the figure is depicted in a powerful yet graceful posture, holding a bowl above her shoulders. This bowl serves as a functional planter, transforming the sculpture’s “head” into a seasonal, ever-changing crown of blooms.

Handcrafted in Supreme Resin, a material exclusive to Foras, the sculpture features a smooth finish that offers the substantial look and feel of a bronze, while remaining lightweight, weather-resistant and durable enough to withstand the elements. An alternative textured finish is also available, revealing the character and artistry of the hand-moulding process for a more sculptural, organic appearance. A natural stone edition will also be coming soon.

Designed with practicality as well as beauty in mind, the planter features a generous planting capacity and an integrated drainage hole.

Each sculpture has an option for mounting with a stainless-steel plinth or a stone granite boulder, allowing the piece to be securely stabilised and to ensure complete stability and no movement in all weather conditions.

Debuting at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and the RHS Sandringham Flower Show, the sculpture was planted with rose varieties from Peter Beales Roses, celebrating a shared heritage of craftsmanship, horticulture, and growth.

Choose from two options for your mounting stand:

Option 1 – The steel stand: The stand itself is designed to either be mounted straight into the earth or concreted:

Earth Mounting: 

1. Dig a hole to accommodate the two ‘prongs on the stand.
2. Flatten the ground in a 60cm square around the hole.
3. Fit the stand, prong side down in the hole, on the area of prepared ground.
4. Use the ground spikes to secure the stand in the earth.

This method allows both the stand and the sculpture to be moved and repositioned with ease. 

Concrete Mounting:

1. Dig a hole  30cm in diameter to accommodate the two ‘prongs on the stand’ and allow for a good amount of concrete.
2. Blank off the ends of the ‘prongs’ with something like duct tape.
3. Fill the hole with wet concrete (must be pourable consistency).
4. Push the stand, prong side down, into the concrete.
5. Allow to dry for 24hrs before fitting the sculpture.

This method is more permanent, however still allows for the sculpture itself to be removed for storage if needed.

Option 2 – The Stone Granite Boulder: Each one Specifically drilled to each sculpture to ensure the pins fit.
