Created with the finest slate the Sturgeon is ideally suited as a presentation piece for use within your home or garden.

Named after it’s ocean dwelling counterpart due to the iridescent finish of the natural slate, it’s comfortable as a feature piece inside or outside to give your cut flowers or presentation dressing real impact!

Add the dimension of water for peace and tranquility with our Sturgeon Water Feature Kit.

Each individual planter will display its own natural finish with hues of greys, copper and silver and are easy to clean and maintain, frost and weather resistant.

Please select external use if siting your vase or planter outside, this will allow drainage if planted and also allow water to escape and prevent splitting in colder temperatures.

*Once your vase or planter has been drilled for drainage to allow for outdoor use, it can no longer be used indoors to hold soil or water due to leakage. However, it can still be brought inside for dried flowers or decorative use. Siting non-drilled planters outside does not constitute grounds for return should the vessel split in colder temperatures.*

Please Note: Natural slate is a product of nature and as such no two are the same. There will be variations in colour, pattern, texture and veining. These differences are part of the beauty of slate.

Please note: For external products – checking the drainage hole for obstructions as part of a maintenance program is advised

Slate is a metamorphic rock with a fine grain, it has the unique ability to be split accurately into straight slabs and plates.

The split sheets each display unique texture and colouration, though always with a predominantly grey base.

Slate varies in colour depending on where it is mined as the individual composition of the rock varies between localities.

Slate is particularly suitable for use as a planter as it has an extremely low water absorption index, meaning that it is resistant to frost damage.

It is incredibly durable and will last for hundreds of years, a Foras slate planter is a planter for life.

Please select external use if siting your vase or planter outside, this will allow drainage if planted and also allow water to escape and prevent splitting in colder temperatures.
