Made from natural slate, the Surmi vase is a presentation piece for your home or garden. Its clean rectangular shape gives it a modern, architectural feel. We split each vase from natural slate, so the graining and texture are unique. You’ll see warm tones of grey, copper and silver running through the stone.

Made your way

Every element is yours to choose. First, pick your three letters, such as two initials joined by an ampersand. We engrave them in a diagonal line down the face of the vase. Then choose the colour of your engraving to suit your style or occasion.

A gift to mark the moment

This vase makes a lasting gift for weddings, anniversaries and housewarmings. It also suits a family name or a favourite person’s initials. Fill it with fresh or dried flowers for the occasion itself. Afterwards, it stands on its own as a keepsake, indoors on a table or outside among the garden borders.

Nine hand-painted colours

Choose from nine carefully selected colours. We apply each one by hand, brushing it into the engraved recesses for a crisp, even finish. Three of those colours are metallics: gold, silver and rose gold. These carry a small additional charge, but they create a beautiful light-catching finish. As the light moves across the vase, the metallic shifts and glows.

Sandblasted in our Norfolk studio

We engrave every vase in-house at our Norfolk studio. Our skilled engravers have years of experience working with stone. First, we hand-mask your design. Then we sandblast it into the surface, creating a clean, well-defined mark rather than simply scratching the surface. The result is beautifully defined lettering with genuine depth and natural shadow, built to stand the test of time.
