Inward Shape Supreme Sculpture

‘Inward Shape’ is a deeply introspective piece from the Foras Sculpture Collection, exploring the quiet emotional spaces that often remain unseen. In contrast to the outward energy and movement of the collection’s other works, this sculpture turns entirely inward, creating a powerful sense of stillness, privacy, and emotional weight.

The life-size figure folds gently into itself, the form narrowing and tightening toward the base as though protecting an inner world. Rather than commanding attention, ‘Inward Shape’ feels discovered, as though the viewer has encountered a deeply personal moment paused in time.

Open to interpretation, the sculpture may evoke grief, reflection, vulnerability, or the quiet tension that exists before change. Its strength lies in its ambiguity, allowing each viewer to recognise something of themselves within the form without being directed toward a single meaning.

Handcrafted in Foras’ exclusive Supreme Resin, a material unique to Foras, ‘Inward Shape’ is available exclusively in a textured finish. This hand-worked surface reveals the sculptural process itself, preserving the marks, movement, and character of the original moulding. The richly textured finish enhances the emotional depth of the piece, giving it an organic, almost weathered quality that feels both timeless and deeply human. A natural stone edition will also be coming soon.

Each sculpture has an option for mounting with a stainless-steel plinth or a stone granite boulder, allowing the piece to be securely stabilised and to ensure complete stability and no movement in all weather conditions.

Designed for both indoor and outdoor settings, ‘Inward Shape’ stands as a quiet meditation on emotion, vulnerability, and the beauty found within moments of stillness.

Choose from two options for your mounting stand:

Option 1 – The steel stand: The stand itself is designed to either be mounted straight into the earth or concreted:

Earth Mounting: 

1. Dig a hole to accommodate the two ‘prongs on the stand.
2. Flatten the ground in a 60cm square around the hole.
3. Fit the stand, prong side down in the hole, on the area of prepared ground.
4. Use the ground spikes to secure the stand in the earth.

This method allows both the stand and the sculpture to be moved and repositioned with ease. 

Concrete Mounting:

1. Dig a hole  30cm in diameter to accommodate the two ‘prongs on the stand’ and allow for a good amount of concrete.
2. Blank off the ends of the ‘prongs’ with something like duct tape.
3. Fill the hole with wet concrete (must be pourable consistency).
4. Push the stand, prong side down, into the concrete.
5. Allow to dry for 24hrs before fitting the sculpture.

This method is more permanent, however still allows for the sculpture itself to be removed for storage if needed.
