The Planter That’s Built Like a Car

We’ve all seen it happen. You buy a nice looking resin planter, pop in your favourite shrub, and for the first season everything’s lovely. Then the British winter arrives. By spring, there’s a crack. By summer, the colour’s faded to that sad, chalky finish. By next winter, it’s in the skip.

The Cheap Planter Problem

The problem? Most garden plastics are often made to a budget, not a high standard and are therefore essentially on borrowed time. So we asked ourselves a slightly ridiculous question: What if we had a planter built to the same quality level used in vehicle components?

Turns out, it changes everything.

A Reassuring Redesign

Let’s be clear from the start: these are the next generation in our planter range. We’ve taken customer feedback and manufacturing insights to create something genuinely new.

Three exciting features define this collection:

  1. Now available in five sizes – from smaller statement pieces to grand focal points. Whatever you’re looking to plant, there’s a size that fits
  2. A built-in drainage system – not just holes drilled as an afterthought, but an integrated architectural approach to water management
  3. Two stunning new colourways – Bronzed Aged and Terracotta Pantile – each bringing warmth and sophistication to any space.

But the innovations don’t stop there. The real story is in what these planters are made from – and why that matters.

Automotive-Grade Engineering

Our new resin planters are engineered to automotive standards – the same quality level used in vehicle components. This means they’re designed for long-term durability, weather resistance and structural strength that goes far beyond typical garden plastics.

You can trust they won’t become brittle, warp, or fade – even after years of British weather. They’re built to handle everything from freezing winters to scorching summers, relentless UV exposure, and impacts that would crack ordinary planters.

Easy to Lift

And here’s the beautiful paradox: despite being built to automotive durability standards, these planters are surprisingly lightweight.

You get the strength of a car component without needing a forklift to move it. Position them exactly where you want before planting – no committing to a spot and hoping for the best. Even the largest planters are manageable to move, and once planted, the new slightly elongated base and natural weight of soil and roots keep them exceptionally stable. It’s the perfect balance: light enough to position with ease, substantial enough to stay put.

Your back will thank you – and your heart will too, every time you see them in bloom.

The Coconut Connection

Now, here’s where it gets interesting. We could have stopped at automotive resin and called it a day. But we’re natural material lovers at heart, and creating something truly sustainable felt essential.

Enter an unlikely hero: coconut husks.

In our terracotta pantile and bronze aged finishes, we’ve blended 20% natural coconut husk fibres with recycled resin content and high-grade automotive material to create something genuinely clever:

  • It’s stronger. The fibres act like microscopic rebar, reinforcing the resin matrix
  • It’s lighter. The natural fibres improve the strength-to-weight ratio
  • It’s genuinely sustainable. Recycled resin reduces virgin plastic production, while coconut husks repurpose agricultural waste
  • It’s more beautiful. The fibres create organic texture and depth that catches light like natural stone. Each planter is then hand-finished, ensuring its own subtle personality and superior attention to detail.

This isn’t greenwashing – it’s science. We’re taking what would otherwise be waste (coconut husks, recycled resin) and transforming it into something beautiful for your home.

The Results Are (Res)in

A planter that’s built to last, surprisingly lightweight and beautifully finished.

It’s the sort of thoughtful engineering you’d find in premium vehicles or architectural design. But why shouldn’t your planters get that same level of care and innovation?
